The Alarm.com ADC-V724X is an updated version of the ADC-V724. Due to supply chain issues affecting the consumer electronics industry, Alarm.com has begun sourcing components from new vendors in an effort to meet demand. For this reason, the SKU for the camera has been updated. The camera's specifications and behavior have not changed.
The ADC-V724X is the first outdoor camera offered by Alarm.com that supports 2-Way Audio. With the excellent suite of video analytics features offered by Alarm.com, property owners will be alerted to people and/or animals (if they choose) within the viewing area. The owner can then speak through the camera, in an effort to scare the intruder or intruders away. As an outdoor camera, the IP66 rating means that this camera is waterproof and dust tight. A monitoring plan that includes video surveillance is required to use the ADC-V724X. For Alarm Grid customers, this is a Platinum Plan (Self or Full) or a standalone Video Monitoring plan.
The Alarm.com ADC-V724X offers some excellent features. In addition to the built-in 2-Way Audio, it supports Onboard Recording with Smart View for continuous, local, encrypted recordings (MicroSD card not included). It offers High Dynamic Range for better light/dark contrast, and works with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WIFI networks. Audio is included in recorded clips. This camera also offers some improvements over earlier Alarm.com camera models with an updated and improved mount, for better long-term stability, and an easier to access MicroSD card door.
High Dynamic Range (HDR) consists of information that is encoded into the video signal sent by the camera. When the information is received, as long as the monitor or server supports HDR, it is decoded to provide exceptional picture quality. HDR monitors are becoming more popular and are used for everything from video surveillance to computer gaming. In addition to HDR, the ADC-V724X has IR night vision, with a range of ~49' (15m).
The Alarm.com ADC-V724X comes with a 12 Volt DC - 1A power adapter. If the included power cord is not long enough, you can extend it using the Alarm.com ADC-VPE-9FT-W extension cable. Multiple ADC-VPE-9FT-W extenders can be used for a total extension of up to 100 feet. Alarm.com does not recommend extending the power cable beyond this length.
If you'll be installing the ADC-V724 using a third-party mounting base such as a CB110, AB110, or PC110 with any of a number of other parts that facilitate either a ceiling, wall, corner, or pole mount, then consider purchasing the Alarm.com ADC-VACC-MNT110. This is a mounting adapter plate provided by Alarm.com to make the camera base easily fit to the third-party mounting equipment. Its use will both hasten the installation process, and make the installation easier.
